Toy LaFollette returns to Second Life

Filed under:

Toy LaFollette with Teeny LeviathanToy LaFollette, one of Second Life's most well-known Live Helpers has returned to Second Life. Toy (born Feb 2004) was particularly known for her cheerful disposition, compendious knowledge of all things SL, and her diligence and long hours in Live Help. She disappeared from Second Life suddenly on the 13th of May (2006), when RL concerns and circumstances forced her sudden and unannounced absence. Her friends feared the worst.

During her absence, her account lapsed, her objects vanished from the world, her friends worried, but her island - which had been paid in advance some time ago - remained, littered by the prims of itinerant experimenters, and with only perhaps a third of the build remaining. To stand there, as I did last week, was like looking at Chuck Jones' interpretation of purgatory, stark, fragmented, sad, lonely and alien.

Two days ago, Toy returned - as Najmah Handayani, as she was unable to access her regular account. Some communications with Customer Service, and she will be able to return as Toy LaFollette once the matter of some considerable sum in back-tier payments is resolved.
